Carl William Hefner

Carl William Hefner, of 1902 Ora Drive, Statesville, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at Brian Center Health & Retirement Center of Mooresville. He was born May 23, 1947, son of the late Carl Hugh Hefner and Zetter Stout Hefner. He was a retired truck driver and on November 8, 1978 he married Betty Jane Cloer Hefner who preceded him in death.

He is survived by children Ed Hefner (Kimberly) of Greensboro, Rose Terry (Jimmy) of Stony Point, Barbara Blansett (Rodney) of Tennessee and Sherry Mitchell (Timmy) of Vanceboro. Twelve grandchildren also survive along with siblings, Bobby Hefner, Randall Hefner and Shirley Childs all of Statesville, Ronnie Hefner and Nancy Estes both of Harmony, Libby Shoffner of Shefield and Julie Bowers of Union Grove.

Services celebrating his life are scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Tuttle officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
