A graduate of Cool Springs High School, Carolyn spent her career working in textiles. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she took great care of her parents and provided for her family with unwavering commitment.
Carolyn was married to the late Gurnie Lee Johnson and together they raised two children, Tim Johnson of Fairview, North Carolina, and Joy Doub (Kent) of Pfafftown, North Carolina. She is also survived by her grandson, Tim Johnson II. Carolyn was predeceased by her brothers, Gene Cornelius, Elbert Cornelius, Kenneth Cornelius, and her sister, Sadie Freeze.
In her personal time, Carolyn found joy in gardening, canning, and cooking, hobbies that reflected her nurturing spirit and love for her family.
A graveside service will be held on January 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at the New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, located at 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, North Carolina.

Carolyn will be laid to rest at New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, where her legacy of devotion and selflessness will be remembered by all who knew her.
