Cynthia "Cindy" Renee Frazier Barkley

She was born October 18, 1960, in Statesville and was the daughter of Peggy Lee Douglas Frazier and the late David G. Frazier. She was a devoted and faithful homemaker and had previously worked as an aide at Jurney’s and Brian Center of Statesville and a grill cook at Jimmy’s II Restaurant. She especially enjoyed trout fishing, camping, cutting wood and flowers and was a mentor and inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, James Raleigh Barkley, whom she married on September 8, 1979; a daughter, Dawn Godfrey of Mooresville; a son, Andy Delane Oates (Kari) of Ft. Gordon, Georgia; two granddaughters, Haylee Renee Oates and Kayla Renee Godfrey; her mother, Peggy Lee Frazier of Statesville; two brothers, David Allen Frazier (Patty) of Taylorsville and Danny Jackson Frazier of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Elaine Johnson (Sonny) of Statesville; and two brothers-in-law, John Phillip Barkley of Taylorsville and H.S. Barkley (Leanne) of Statesville.

Memorial service celebrating Cindy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Susan Bame officiating.

The family will speak with friends at the church following the service.
