David Hannah Jr., 88, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. David was born on October 5, 1934, to David Hannah Sr. and Edna Peer Hannah, in Mount Holly, N.J.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Johnson Hannah; step-children, Tonda McDaniels (Phillip), and Rick Welborn (Kim); grandchildren, Tasha Cichielo (Jim), Shara Tame (Jayson), and Orion Stearns; step-grandchildren, Ben McDaniels (Micah), Nathan McDaniels, John Welborn (Ashton), Jacob Welborn, and Joshua Welborn; great-grandchildren, Lyla and Sophia Cichielo, Westin and Colin Tame, Aria Stearns, and Everly Lyon; and brother, Robert Hannah (Alice).
David was a retired CMSGT, US Air Force, who received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and the Meritorious Service Medal over the course of his career.
He attended Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove, N.C.
The funeral service for Mr. Hannah will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Zion Baptist Church, with Dr. Joey Tomlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
