
Born in Ohio on August 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Clyde Harmon and Betty Harper Sandy. He is also preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Sandy and his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Lou Wright Harmon. She passed away in May 2013.
Mr. Harmon attended the University of Miami, worked for Beechnut Life Savors for 10 years and then worked for McDonalds Corporation as a Franchise Special Project Supervisor for 20 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, in which he served for 8 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Stanley (Barbara) Harmon of Statesville, Deborah (Sylvain) Courcy of Great Falls, MT, Ronald Harmon and Michael J. Harmon, both of Waretown, NJ, Catherine Harmon Mirabelli of Statesville and Karen Harmon of Taylorsville; one sister, Debra Sandy of the home; twelve grandchildren, Eric Harmon, Jason Harmon, Aaron Harmon, Matthew Harmon, Mitchell Harmon, Jennifer Buckley, Krista Harmon, Dylan Mirabelli, Zackary White, Monique Courcy, Dalton Courcy, and Shannon Harmon.
A private family service will be held at Mr. Harmon’s residence.
