Born in Iredell County on January 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Horne and Macie Washington Horne.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jacobs in 1979; one son, Michael Jacobs and one sister, Mickey Overcash.
Doris spent many years working in home health care and was full of life until the end. She attended Northview Church of Christ and enjoyed country music and her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Belinda Jacobs of Statesville; granddaughter Stephanie Veverka and husband Anthony of Concord; and three great-grandchildren, Allison, Griffin and Nathan.
No formal services will be held at this time.
