

Mr. Immesberger was born September 5, 1933 in Corona, New York and was the son of Emil T. and Nellie Immesberger (nee Oxley).
His wife, Beryl, 3 sons, Eric, Richard, and Todd, 8 grandchildren, Daniel, John, Mark, Kate, Ashley, Blake, Rayna, and Kiera survive him. A niece and nephew also survive. Two sisters, Nellie and Iris preceded him in death.
In 1962, he graduated from New York University with a degree in Banking and Finance. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 in the 310th Medical Battalion of the 3rd Armored Division in Frankfurt, Germany.
He spent the majority of his career employed at the New York Stock Exchange; subsequently he owned the LaGrange Motel near Poughkeepsie, NY and was also a commercial, business and real estate broker.
He was a member of the Hicksville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad for 19 years, served as the Department Secretary for 10 years and is a Life Member of the Volunteer Fire Department Exempt Association. He was the founder of the Society to Preserve Our Town (SPOT) in Hicksville, NY. He served for 25 years as Treasurer of Invested Funds for Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church in Lagrangeville, NY. He was also a former member of Pleasant Valley Rotary Club, MY where he served in all offices as well as Treasurer of Invested Funds, Assistant District Governor and Chairman of the RYLA program. He was Past President of the Statesville Newcomers Club and Yokefellow Ministries.
Mr. Immesberger was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Statesville, NC, where he held the offices of Church Treasurer, member of the Session as well as Treasurer of the “Young” Men’s Bible Class. He was the Master Mason for 60 years with Advance, Island City Mizpah Lodge #586 of Astoria, NY. He also held dual membership with Statesville Masonic Lodge #27 in Statesville, NC.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
The funeral serving honoring Mr. Immesberger’s life will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Scott and Rev. Grant Sharpe officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Military and Masonic rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Men’s Bible Class Scholarship Fund of First Presbyterian Church 125 North Meeting Street Statesville, NC 28677.
