Faye Sherrill Woods

She was born August 10, 1927, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the Clyde Graham and Mary Phillips Sherrill. She retired from Rubbermaid Industries and Toter, Inc.. For more than 50 years, she was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was former church training director and teacher of the pre-school children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on September 14, 2012, by her husband, Roy Jacob "Todd" Woods, whom she he married on July 28, 1945; a grandson, Scott Bradley Woods; five brothers, Joe, Howard, Albert, Herman and Harry Sherrill; and two sisters, Nellie Sherrill Martin and Evelyn Byers.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynda W. (James) Peacock; two sons, Gary D. Woods and Larry W. (Ilar) Woods; five grandchildren, Larry Wayne (Beverly) Woods, Jr., Michael Todd (Beth) Woods, Tracy Scott (Kim) Woods, Lisa Peacock (Mike) Beckham, and Tamara Peacock (Chris) Cloer; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, all of Statesville.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Faye's life will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry C. Cook, Jr. and Allen Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
