He was born November 12, 1924, in Davie County and was the son of Carl Edward and Garnett Spry Creason. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and later worked for 17 years as a machinist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Creason; a daughter, Barbara Lynn Corbin; a son, George Rodney Creason; and a sister, Martha Parker.
He is survived by two daughters, Linn Hartman of Morganton and Marsha Allgood of Statesville; a son-in-law, Ronald Jay Corbin of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
