

Mr. Gerald Martin (Buddy) Foster, 74, of 13210 Cool Springs Rd., Cleveland, died Sunday, June 1st at his home. Born in Davie County on October 21, 1939, he was a son of the late Robert Reid Foster and Artie Norine Snider Foster. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Gaither. He was the owner/operator of La-Foster Farm, retiring in 2003. He was a member of South River United Methodist Church and loved farming. On October 24, 1958, he married Shelbia Jean Cartner who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Terry Lee Foster (Sarah) of Cleveland and a daughter, Tonia Menius (Mark) of Woodleaf, along with a brother, Fred Foster of Cleveland. Additional survivors include 3 grandchildren: Corey Foster (Jennifer), Ryan Menius and Colby Menius and 3 great grandchildren: Haley, Olivia and Brayden Foster. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, James Gaither of Harmony, a niece and a nephew.
Services celebrating Mr. Foster's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 4th at South River United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Towery
officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Tim Gaither, David Lentz, Cody, Peter and Pete Dobbins and Don Menius. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold Caudle, Fred Snyder, Kenneth Lingle, Larry Wood, Richard Gaither and David Correll. The family will receive friends immediately following the commital service in the church fellowship hall.
