

He was born August 13, 1927, in Statesville and was the son of the late Lewis Wilburn and Nellie Carscaddon Holler. He was a graduate of Celeste Henkel School and Mitchell College and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired machinist with Southern Fasteners where he worked for 37 years and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He served as Chief of West Iredell Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years and was a member of the Board of Directors of West Iredell Water Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilburn Holler, Henry Tate Holler and Jerry Holler.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nina Jean Adams Holler whom he married on May 20, 1950; a sister, Manetta Reid of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating James’ life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernie Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
