Janie Wallace Bumgarner

Mrs. Janie Wallace Bumgarner, 86, formerly of 2018 Joe Rd. Statesville, died Wednesday at the Brian Center of Statesville. Born in Mecklenburg County on March 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Zeke Williamson Wallace and Annie Russell Wallace. She formerly worked at Celanese Fibers in Rock Hill, S.C., Steadmans in Statesville and her last 15 years of work was with Statesville Auto Auction. On May 17, 1980, she married Mr. J. B. Bumgarner who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two step daughters, Mrs. Gloria Hager (Steve) of Statesville and Mrs. Alma Jacobs-Thomas (Grady) of Charlotte and two very special friends, Charlie Stroud and Jean Mead, along with 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

Services celebrating Janie's life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Blaine Keaton officiating.
