Joan Turnmire Fox

He was born in Caldwell County on September 30, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Walter Bord and Mary Magdaline Triplett Turnmire. She was a homemaker and a founding member of East Side Baptist Church. On April 8, 1950, she married Mr. James Allen (Jim) Fox who died on December 1, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Allen Fox and his wife, Donna, and David Wayne Fox and his wife, Leslie, both of Statesville; two daughters, Mrs. Sherry Joan Beck and her husband, Steve, of Troutman and Mrs. Kathy Renita Fox and her late husband, Rod Farrell, of Wilmington; a brother, Ray Turnmire and his wife, Geneva, of Granite Falls; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also had many loving friends in the Granite Falls, Hamlet and Statesville communities of North Carolina.

Services celebrating Joan's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2013, at East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Morgan and the Rev. Charles Cook officiating. She will lie in state in the church sanctuary from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service while the family receives friends in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
