

He was born on November 24, 1956, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was the son of the late John Vernon and Alma Mae Riley Blevins. He was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as a Navy Seal, and prior to his disability retirement, he worked in the shipyard along the coast of Mississippi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Blevins.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia Mefford Roe Blevins whom he married on February 14, 1992; a son, Daniel C. Blevins of the home; four step-children, Brian Roe and Felicia Roe both of Kentucky, Mike Roe, Jason Roe and Joshua Roe, all of Ohio; four sisters, Carol McCarroll of Citra, FL, Janice Brown of Cornelius, Juanita Blevins of Gastonia, and Beatrice Schumacher of Lexington, KY; and two special nieces, Kristina Bowen of Cornelius and Ginger Parise of Gastonia; along with several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services celebrating John’s life will be held this weekend at Riverside Church in Manchester, OH. Burial will follow at Sandy Springs Cemetery in Stout, OH.
