Born on June 25, 1935 in Hickory, North Carolina, Joseph (Joe) Walters Jones was the son of the late Winford Garfield “Jiggs” Jones and Marion Crawford Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Baker Jones.
Joe earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and had a successful career in manufacturing engineering.
His hobbies included spending time with family and pets, woodworking, and landscaping.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Joey Jones; daughter, Melanie Nieman; grand daughter, Chiara Nieman; sister, Betty Prater; nephew, Eric Hasque, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC.
