Joseph Franklin Templeton

Joe was born the son of the late Oliver Glenn Templeton and Flora Mae White Templeton on November 23, 1934 in Iredell County. He was a lifelong member of Union Grove United Methodist Church, and was known for his generosity and his kind hearted nature. Joe put in 100% effort into everything he did in life and especially in being a husband and father. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Jane Barker Templeton; two brothers and three sisters.

Those left behind to cherish Joe’s memory include his wife of 21 years, Angelia Kay Crater Templeton; four children, Laura Reep and her husband, Derek of Olin, Greg Templeton and his wife, Deborah of Statesville, Joel Cass and his wife, Angela of Harmony and Jonna Cass of Union Grove; a sister, Betty Sue Lunsford of Olin; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a special dog, Daisy. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Union Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall. Reverends Neill Shaw and Dwight Dowell will officiate.
