

Julia was born December 11, 1920 to the late Sam Troutman, Sr. and Marie Sigmon Troutman. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Julia loved sewing and working her vegetable and flower gardens. She grew tables full of beautiful African violets.
Julia was educated at Cool Springs School and worked for 30 years at Stimson Hosiery Mill. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Statesville, NC.
Julia married Marsh Marlow in 1953 and they had two daughters, Leslie and Terri. Mr. Marlow passed away in 1963. Later Julia married Arnie Carson and they had many happy years together.
Julia is survived by her daughter Leslie Welborn and husband Terry and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Elizabeth Leatherwood and her brother, Melvin Troutman.
Julia was preceded in death her husbands, Marsh Marlow and Arnie Carson; daughter, Terry Gettys; sister, Nellie White and brothers, Sam Troutman and Paul Troutman.
Julia spent her last 8 years at The Gardens. She loved all her caregivers there very much. Her faith in her Lord Jesus sustained Julia through her last years with dementia.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at The Gardens and the Hospice caregivers who took such good care of Julia. They are all loved very much.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM– 11:30 AM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2015 with the funeral service following at 11:30 AM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain Lynn Lepley officiating. Burial will be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to The Gardens or to Gordon Hospice House.
Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
