

June Lois England Crouse, 82, of Statesville, passed away on January 31, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Crouse was born in McDowell Co., W. VA and was the daughter of the late Charles Burton England and Mae Lester England. She attended Baileysville High School and on December 24, 1953, she married Sherman Virgil Crouse, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1986.
Mrs. Crouse was a homemaker. She was a member of Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church where she served as a longtime treasurer. She was also the past president of the Steeles Friendly Neighbor Club as well as the former treasurer of the Hanover Volunteer Fire Dept. She also loved baking and cooking and enjoyed going to the Elder Center in Statesville. She loved her church and church family, but nothing compared to the love she shared with her children and grandchildren, she will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Crouse and her aunt, Lois Lester who June loved to travel with. Left to cherish her memory are a son, James Crouse (Carol) and two daughters, Lynn Miller (Terry) and Gina Paynter (Danny) all of Statesville; six grandsons, Jamie Miller, Joshua Crouse, Dustin Paynter, Cameron Paynter, Seth Paynter all of Statesville, and Adam Dillard (Cari) of Clemmons; one granddaughter, Amy Miller of Lexington; her brother, Charles England of Statesville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services for June Crouse will be conducted at 10:30am on Saturday February 3, 2018 in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Fisher officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:30am prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at 2:30pm in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W. VA with Rev. Dennis Lester officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in June’s memory to the Elder Center, PO Box 1162, Statesville, NC 28687.
The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff at the Elder Center and the Heritage Place for the love and care shown to their mother.
