Leonard "L.P." Paul Dishmond

He was the son of the late Leonard Lee Dishmond and Esther Hendren Dishmond.

L.P. retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a supervisor. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mocksville, where he served on numerous committees.

Words cannot fully describe L.P. Dishmond. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved fly-fishing and camping. He never met a stranger, was always willing to help whenever there was a need. He was strong –willed, devout man, dedicated in his faith to the Lord and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Gurney Dishmond, Neloree D. Williams, Arlene D. Lambert and an infant sister.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia Shaver Dishmond; daughter, Kimberly (Ricky) Welborn; son, Brandon (Christina) Dishmond; grandchildren, John, Josh and Jacob Welborn and Caden, Gabriel, Blake Dishmond and a granddaughter on the way; one sister, Irene (Joe)York ; one brother, Willard (Sylvia) Dishmond; and sisters-in-laws, Wanda (Rayford) Myers and Carol (Tim) Reid and his beloved Harley.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 25, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

The funeral service honoring L.P.’s life will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Westmoreland Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bobby Henderson and Rev. Rob Waugh officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews Jonathan and Matthew York, David Williams, Jaydon, Jacob and Jarrod Gantt.
