

She passed away at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 29, 1940, to the late Ada Feimster and Clarence (Cap) Ward who preceded her in death.
In April 1960, she married Allen Steele Rogers who preceded her in death on December 11, 1996.
She is survived by two dedicated daughters; Laura Rogers Ballard (Tony) and Allison Rogers Bullock (Peter). She is also survived by three grandchildren that loved her dearly; Brittany Ballard Whitaker, David Allen Bullock, and Thomas Peter Bullock and a great grandson, Nolan Whitaker. In addition she is survived by two brothers; Kenneth Ward (Judy) and Pete Ward (Kat) all of Statesville. She is survived by a very special cousin and friend Ms. Sarah Cleary who she loved spending time with, and a wonderful neighbor, Mr. Clarence Ray, both of Statesville.
Mrs. Rogers was a wonderful and outstanding Mom and Nana. She was retired from the J.C. Penney’s Store in Statesville, where she worked for 26 years. She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church of Statesville. Her never ending faith, care and concern for others was a testimony to all of those who knew her.
The family will receive friends at New Salem United Methodist Church of Statesville, North Carolina Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm in the Church Sanctuary.
There will be a celebration of her life at 3:00 pm November 17, 2011 at New Salem United Methodist Church. The Reverends Larry Holleman and David Gay will be officiating. Burial will follow at the New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Travis Ward, Phillip Ward, Brian Dearman, Lynn Cleary, Clarence Ray, and Ronnie Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to New Salem United Methodist Church, 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or Diamond Hill Baptist Church, 2320 East Broad Street, Statesville, NC 28625.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Wake forest Baptist Medical Center, Reynolds Tower 10th Floor and Ardmore Tower 9th Floor for being caring and compassionate to our Mom. We would also like to thank Autumn Care of Statesville for the kind and concerned care they gave her during the brief time she was there. Special thanks to the NuCare Ambulance Service of Statesville for their kind and compassionate care of our mother.
