He was born June 21, 1948, in Statesville and was the son of the late Marshall W. Goodwin, Sr. and Ethel Hunter Goodwin. He retired from CVG, formerly Trim Systems, and had a great passion for farming and operating his own produce stand. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wise Goodwin, whom he married on June 4, 1994; five children, Steve (Theresa) Goodwin, Michael “Mike” Padgett, Charles Goodwin, Jennifer Goodwin, and Tammie Goodwin; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Brenda Pierce and Sue (Kramer) Davis, all of Statesville.
Funeral services celebrating Jack’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Ervel Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
