Martha Louise Barker

Louise Barker went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born in Ashe County, North Carolina, she was the daughter to the late Barney and Annie Mae Goodman Lowman. Louise was an active member of the Statesville Senior Center, Hebron Baptist Church and the Prayer Warrior Sunday school class. She participated in the Senior Olympics for several years. She loved to garden, fish and play sports. She was a seamstress prior to raising her daughters.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, E.C. Barker, four brothers and two sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Sandra Barker, Janice Barker, Lisa (Todd) Fox, and Angie (Mark) Ford; grandchildren, Kayla (Durant) Barr, Ethan (Morgan) Ford, Lauren ( Seth) Mull and Benjamin Ford; brother, Morgan Ray “ Babe” Lowman; friend, Bill Bowie and other loving family members.

A Celebration of Louise’s Life will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 4 pm at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson and Rev. William Wease officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
