Nancy Ann Lamberth, née McGee, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on October 22, 1938, to Carven and Pearl Wilson McGee, Nancy lived a life filled with love, music, and adventure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, her beloved husband, James D. (J.D.) Lamberth, and her great-granddaughter, Brianna Steele. Nancy cherished bluegrass music, and in earlier years, she and J.D. traveled countless miles to attend music festivals and fiddlers conventions, sharing their love for music with fellow enthusiasts.
Beyond music, Nancy found peace and happiness at the beach. She could spend hours on the pier at Topsail or Oak Island, patiently waiting for a fish to bite, enjoying the rhythm of the waves and the serenity of the sea.
Nancy is survived by her children, Robin and Dwight Dillard and Gary and Becky Lamberth; her grandchildren, Ryan Dillard (Alaina), Christie Dillard (Mike), Jennifer Lamberth (Jody Combs), and Bradley Steele (Marissa); and six great-grandchildren, Dylan Combs (Abi), Jay Dillard, Bailey Steele, Ashton Godfrey, Mia Dillard, and Karissa Steele. She also leaves behind her special nieces, Gwynn Dillard and Vicky Meadows, and her dear friend, Lou Sink.
Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and love for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the family and friends who will always hold her memory close.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House or the Gordon Hospice House in her honor.
