

Paul David Reavis, Sr., 91, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his home. He was born in Statesville to Hugh Lee Reavis, Sr. and Lillie Bennett Reavis. On June 16, 1951, he married Mary Faye Waugh. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and Bowman Technical School, Lancaster, PA. He was a certified Master Watch Maker and Engraver. He was a disabled veteran, having served in the Navy in World War II and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge No. 27, where he was made a life member and the American Legion. Always interested in scouting, he achieved the Boy Scouts highest rank, that of Eagle Scout.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary, and children, Paul Reavis, Jr. of Statesville and Kathy Reavis (John Smith) of Williamston, SC; grandchildren, Kari Wilhelm (Craig) of Williamston, SC and Kathryn Jones (Phillip) of Pendleton, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Blevins and a brother, Hugh L. Reavis, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery and will precede the Celebration of Life service to be held at 1:30 PM at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Statesville. Members of the family will meet friends in the Bride Deacon Parlor following the service.
