To the Davis family. Sorry for your loss. I just wanted to send my heartfelt condolences. May you find comfort knowing that our Heavenly Father cares for you and will comfort you during this time. (2Corinthians 1:3,4; 2Thessalonians 2:16,17) Jesus gave us a wonderful hope that we may see our loved ones again when he said at John 5:28,29 that there will be a resurrection. May we keep our eyes on the promises of our Heavenly Father who promised that one day no one will say I am sick, (Isaiah 33:24) and that all our pain, sorrow and even death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3,4) Many prayers are with the family. May you have peace .

I first met Ricky in 2005 at his gym, there I returned to martial arts, a passion I still enjoy. Later that year, I met my wife, Jaruška, at Ricky's gym. Through the years Ricky became one of my closest friends. After I moved away from NC we kept in touch, he was always there for me and, I like to think, I was there for him. 
Ricky was a caring, charming, intelligent, talented man. He will live on in all the lives he affected for the better. 
I love that guy! 

I had the unique opportunity this past year to reconnect with my ex husband Rick.  We became the dearest of pals. We hiked, laughed, cried, ate, talked , reminisced and sang our hearts out together.  I am so grateful to God that I was given this gift as it was a time of healing and forgiveness for us both. 

I choose to think that Rick did not lose the fight but rather made a decision that best suited him and yet again is a winner as he beat us all to the finish line where we will all get to one day. 

The past several mornings I have woken up singing a song that Rick wrote.  He rearranged the words and wrote music to 1 Corinthians 13 .  He hadn’t played it in years until I reminded him of it and I asked him to play it every time we sang together this past year.  He asked me to write it down for him  and I didn’t get to give it to him until now.   I’m sure some of you will recall this beautiful song he sang. 
“ though I speak with tongues of men and angels of glory, and have all knowledge and the gift of prophecy.  With all my intentions as good as they may be, and have not love, it cannot profit me.  Because love is patient , love is kind.  Love does not envy is not arrogant or blind, behaves itself unruly, does not seek its own.   Love is the greatest power ever known. “

I will miss you Ricky- you rascal- you left me again!!!! but I will get there and we all will continue the journey “what a day of rejoicing that will be”!!!!
I am thankful to know that you are now experiencing true “peace and love” in the arms of your Savior and Father.

My husband , Lynn, and I knew Rick from many years ago. Lynn knew Rick from his early years. But, I didn’t really get to know him until my son, Patrick, enrolled in his Muay Thai classes. Rick was good with the children that were around him. He taught them respect but to also have fun. Patrick was so excited to receive his black belt at an early age. Even though, he chose other sports that took up a lot of his time; he didn’t forget what he learned from Rick. My daughter was very young but would go with me to watch Rick teach the classes.  We always loved Rick’s dog Rocky, and the bond that Rick had with him. Rest In Peace, Rick

Ever since I was a young child my uncle was always one of my hero. He taught me so much in my life. He taught me about the importance of discipline, respect, honor and dignity on the mat. He was such a beautiful soul who will always hold a part of my heart and life. He always told me to be myself because I was amazing, such a beautiful soul. He was so proud that I was his nephew. Uncle I will always miss you and hold true to what you showed me and taught me. I love you and miss you so much already. Keep that fighting spirit in heaven and I know you will save me  a seat. ❤️ 

I am very saddened to hear of Rick’s passing, he was my first Martial Arts  instructor and instilled in me a passion for Mauy Thai that has lasted for over 25 years!   The Martial Arts world has lost a great one!!!
