

Mr. Robert Earl Fox, Jr., 86 of Statesville, died Wednesday in the N. C. State Veteran’s Home in Salisbury. He was born in Iredell County, June 24, 1925, son of the late Robert E. Fox, Sr. and Anna Rachel Dillinger Fox. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Katherine Sigmon Fox, who died September 27, 2003.
Earl served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal & Bronze Star Attachment (Triple), the World War II Victory Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award and the Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII.
He is survived by two sons, Earl Randall Fox (Kathy Mayberry Fox) of Stony Point, Carl Melvin Fox (Teresa Sells Fox) of Statesville and Granddaughter Stacey Ann Fox
Services celebrating Earl’s life are scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Sharon Lutheran Church with Rev. Darrell Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Lutheran Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. will full Military Honors accorded at the graveside by the Harmony American Legion Post 113. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Sipes, Phillip Malone, Johnny Rhyne, Bill Upright, Richard Charles, Roger Martin, Allen Miller and Jerry Gregory.
