Robert Bob Udell Harris Jr.

Mr. Robert Udell (Bob) Harris, Jr., 78, of 10809 Mt. Holly Rd. Charlotte and originally of Statesville, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home. Born in Iredell County on July 13, 1933, he was a son of the late Robert Udell Harris, Sr. and Rosie Summers Harris. He served in the U. S. Army and was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill. He was a C.P.A. with Mel Jackson Tax Service and was an avid sports fan. He resided in Charlotte most of his career.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: William Davin (Bill) Harris, Robert Paul Harris and Jerry Ray Harris and sisters: Mary V. Harris, Mabel Harris Gaither, Dorothy (Dot) Harris Bost and Patty Jean Harris Cashion.

Survivors include a brother, Bobby Joe Harris of Missouri, a sister, Mrs. Nancy Harris Horne of Statesville and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two honorary sons, Terry and Chris Trout and a friend, Nancy Ledins.

Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Friday March 9, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, with Chaplan Gary Tarryrevels officiating. Military rites will be presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail.

Pallbearers will be: Kelly and Kenny Harris, Tommy Gaither, Dennis Harris, Shannon and Archie Horne. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. prior to the service at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. At other times the family will be assembled at the residence of his sister, Nancy H.
