

She was born September 13, 1918, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Hancock, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Wallace Aaron and Nettie Yeakle Sagle. She served as secretary and treasurer at Miller Machine Company. As an active member of her community, she founded the Newcomer’s Club in Statesville, was active in the Eastern Star, and was a charter member of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way of Iredell County. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was active in St. John’s Women of the church and made the first Chrismon tree at the church.
On July 3, 1941, she married Claud Thomas Miller who preceded her in death on June 2, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Wallace Miller.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Thomas Miller and his wife, Gail Lynch Miller, of Hickory, and David Sagle Miller and his wife, Vicki Seawell Miller, of High Point; a daughter-in-law, Karen Lederer Miller of Statesville; five grandchildren, Bradley Miller, Matthew Miller, Robert Miller, Betsy Rosenbalm, and Emily Cook; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services celebrating Rosalie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday in the church parlor prior to the service.
