Mrs. Roxie Lanie Benjamin Gary, 95, of Statesville, died April 5, 2013 at Autumn Care of Statesville. Mrs. Gary was born in Darlington County, S.C. on November 22, 1917 to the late Formon Benjamin and Jennie Lee Jackson Benjamin. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jimmy Gary.
Survivors include a daugher, Margie Seless Covington of Statesville and a sister, Christine Mitchell of Camden, S.C.
Services celebrating Mrs. Gary's life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Scovens
officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday prior to the service. At other times, the family will be assembled at the home of Letrieka Foster at 103 Redwood Lane, Statesville.
