

He was born October 27, 1920, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Samuel Jackson and Ada Shoemaker Woods. He was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran in the European Theatre during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Scottie Woods; three brothers, Gordon G. Woods, Joseph F. Woods, and Clement Lee Woods; and three sisters, Helen Poole, Pauline Herrin and Doris Little.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Sherrill Woods whom he married on July 28, 1945; a daughter, Lynda W. Peacock (James); two sons, Gary D. Woods and Larry W. Woods (Ilar); five grandchildren, Larry Wayne Woods, Jr. (Beverly), Michael Todd Woods (Beth), Tracy Scott Woods (Kim), Lisa Peacock Ward, and Tamara Peacock Cloer (Chris); twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Moose and Colleen Brewer, all of Statesville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Monday, September 17, 2012, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Todd’s life will be held 3:00 PM Monday in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry C. Cook, Jr. and Allen Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites being accorded by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
