Wade McKinley Reece

He was born June 27, 1936, in Haywood County and was the son of the late Howard McKinley and Beulah Eulalie Inman Reece. He retired from Kewaunee Scientific Equipment Corporation and then worked with the Statesville Auto Auction for 12 years.

He was preceded in death on August 21, 2013, by his wife, Ruth Hayes Reece, whom he married on April 5, 1958. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jack and Wayne Reece.

He is survived by his daughter, Wanda (Tim) Cox; two granddaughters, Kayla Jones and Jennifer Spencer, all of Mooresville; three sisters, Pauline (T.L.) Moore, Jeroline (Melvin) Ball, and Linda (Wally) Bell, all of Statesville; and a brother, Ray (Addie) Reece of Canton.

Funeral service celebrating Wade’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2013, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Speece officiating. Burial will follow at Olin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
