Walter Hurd Shaw Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Paula Shaw; two sons, Michael Warren Shaw and Christopher Scott Shaw; a daughter, Shannon Brooke Shaw-Barker; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Hurd Shaw, Sr., his mother, Marion Fuller Shaw, and his brother, Douglas Dennis Shaw.

Walter loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a conscientious employee who took great pride in his work. He felt most at home outdoors—whether hunting or mowing the grass while singing “I’ll Fly Away.” He loved to cook (especially with Duke’s Mayonnaise), enjoyed cowboy movies, and was an avid storyteller who never failed to bring laughter and warmth to those around him.
