Having Deanie as my mother in law was very special in many ways. She not only brought me lots of many good times and memories but also to my Uncle Bill. He truly enjoyed having her in his life and they spent many happy times together. She always welcomed me into her house every time we went to visit her.  She was a true Christian woman with high standards and morals.  I am so thankful that Trudy and I got together and married and that I was able to be a part of Deanie's family for so many years. I feel blessed by being around such a loving person all these years. I love you and miss you. Kenny

All my grandparents have passed on, and Grandma Deal held a special place in my heart...she allowed me to have a Grandma a little longer. She provided care for my son, Joseph, when I went to work; that is until her accident. But no matter what came her way, she had a smile on her face. She had a sweet smile, and was so much fun to laugh with. I'll never forget her and "Dumplin", her favorite poodle, or her saying, "Oh mercy!" Other important things I grew to appreciate more during the time we had with Grandma was the importance of: self-sacrifice, family first, compassion, perseverence, endurance, forgiveness, mercy, grace, laughter, and faith. I've never seen such sacrifice first hand, as I did with Grandma's children, and even grandchildren. What a family, what a Grandmother, what a legacy! I pray that I may leave a legacy as such that my children will look after me the same way, shall I need it some day. I love you Grandma Deal! You are greatly missed and much loved!! I can't wait to celebrate in Heaven with you!!

I want to take time and thank God for the best mom that I could have. And second my sisters that took quality care of her. We all went the extra mile to make her as happy and comfortable as we all possible could. And our God provided with all kind things such as a van that took us on family vacations, nice hospital bed, and most of all my baby sister ,Laura, that opened her doors that we could give the care and love she needed. And there was daycare that every day Trudy took her so that we all could hold down our jobs. I miss those time riding around with mom and me and her singing and she told me so many times that I could not sing. I did it just so she would correct me. In closing if there was one thing I could tell mom is to not worry about me not eating. Because all my sisters are inviting me over to eat.love my Moma  Dean

Deanie was such a sweet sweet lady. I never saw her without  her sweet smile and kind words.   Her daughter Janet is one of my closest friends and reminds me a lot of her mom. I know your mom was so proud of you and loved you very much. It was an honor  to have known your mom, and share some of the great memories. I love ya!!

Grandma Deal was a woman of great character, teaching by example. Loving each and every person she met. You knew she was a godly women just being in her presence. She taught us by example to read our Bible daily, and in the end the word inscribed on her heart welcomed Jesus with open arms. She lived a full life with a family extending over 4 generations. We will miss her greatly until the day that we to can welcome our Lord to take us home. I'm forever grateful for the legacy of serving Our Lord Jesus Christ and serving our neighbors that She has left us.

This wonderful lady that I love dearly always had a special place in my heart. A GOD fearing Christian that showed her love for the Lord. Active in my church she never slowed down even after her stroke. Bound to a wheel chair I always looked foward to seeing her at church. We both sit on the front rows and we would flirt with each other. She would wave and I would back. I'd blow her a kiss and she would laugh. We had some good clean fun there. 
One morning while I was coming up from Sunday school I would always pass by where she was sitting. I would stop and talk with her for a few minutes. I would bend over to kiss her on the cheek and go on to my seat. One morning when I bent over to kiss her, right when I was about to make contact to her cheek, she turned her face to mine with her tongue out and that's what I kissed that morning. Several people seen it and they all laughed. 

 Mrs. Wilma Deal was a true friend to me. She in her own ways encouraged me to serve GOD. I know she is there with Jesus now. Praising his name. Will always miss you. With Christian Love

Grandma.  I miss you so much!!  Your love and support always keep me going.  Over the last few years of your life, I really understood why GOD called me to become a nurse.  Your love for GOD always gave me hope in people.  I miss your smile and the love you always showed to others.  I think most of all, I will miss the mornings of my birthday getting your sweet birthday wishes.  Until I see you again.  I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss you so much.  You were a great person/grandmother.  I loved the way you loved life.  Your love for GOD always gave me hope!!!  I miss your smiling face!!  Family was always important.  The last few years of your life only showed me how nursing was the right path for my life.  Thank you for everything.  Until I see you again, I love you!!!!!

My momma was simply the BEST!  I loved her and she loved me.  She put me first all those years we had alone and was always my rock. She taught me how to be an independent woman!  I do not need to write how wonderful she was because anyone that knew her already knows. I miss her everyday!

A loving spirit, a safe place without judgment, a smile to turn your frown upside down and a constant role model of a God-fearing Christian woman. Thats who she was. The pillar of her family which she lead with wisdom, fairness and kindness. How blessed we were to have her.  

The birthday singing is something I dearly miss, I would always hear that sweet voice on the other end of the phone singing blessing over my life. I miss walking into her presence to feel as if there wasn't any time or miles that had separated us.  I could just feel the love pour out of her onto me. 

Very few people in the world can say they had a Grandmother like mine. She helped shape me into the woman I am by being a living example of how forgiveness really is more for me than the other person. Love ALWAYS triumphs. Being obedient to God will always have its rewards, even though they may not be earthy treasures. She was a loved and cherish woman which is worth more than any materialistic item, you can't buy love and friends. 

On top of everything, I am so thankful for her relationship with Jesus Christ because as much as her absence is felt, I have hope that her leaving us here on earth was not our goodbye. I will be reunited with her and it will be a glorious one at that. Where I will never have to witness her suffer again or feel her absence! And because of that I say...  Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?

I must say after reading Tony's post how very very Thankful I am to him for the way he loved my Moma.  She loved him like her own and she loved his visits everyday...She truly loved him. He showered her with gifts often and always made her feel very much loved and very special. She loved his cooking as he is one of the best cooks I know. He always shared with me on the nights I was with Moma and Moma would always say, "Janet ain't Tony just the sweetest and best thang?"  We would talk about how blessed we were to have him in our life's. Tony has never treated me anything but Good and Tony I am eternally grateful for that, "Thank You"!!!  From the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul I THANK YOU for being so so good to my Moma, not just the last few years, but always!! Deanie was a very loving and kind person.  She welcomed my two oldest sons and me into the family with open arms.  She was with Laura and I when Sam and Philip were born.  She held and cuddled Caleb shortly after he died.  She was a generous person and shared her smile with everyone.  She loved to travel.  Laura and I took her on many vacations.  Whether it was Dollywood or Hilton Head she enjoyed herself and was always thankful.  She was such a blessing to me.  Living with us the last years of her life were even more special.  We had a Mommy monitor in our room to listen for her if she needed something in the middle of the night.  She had headphones to listen to the TV.  I fell asleep many nights listening to her laughing or breathing.  When I awoke I always listened for her.  I still wake up longing to hear her.  Thankful for all those precious memories of my wonderful Mother-n-Law Deanie Deal!  Lovingly  your hunka hunka!

Such a gentle and loving spirit. I miss seeing her at church. I greatly admire her children for the care they gave their Mom after her strokes. They had her in church every Sunday, right up front in her wheel chair. I think the whole church enjoyed seeing that sweet lady up there. It was like she was leading the way for the rest of us. Rest in peace dear lady.

   Miss Wilma Was my friend for a short while. I loved her and miss her very much. She made me feel like family from the day I met her.

Grandma Deal...first off I have to say thank you to what a wonderful person you were to me. There was never a time that you treated me any differently because I wasn't your Grandson by blood.  I enjoyed all the time we spent together when we were growing up, all the beach trips and family gatherings.  I know you're rejoicing on the other side. We will see you again someday. I love and miss you...Travis.

I got to see grandma almost everyday in the lunch room at school. We share the love of butterflies. Grandma deal had such a huge heart and made everyone around her feel loved and special. I miss seeing her now but know I will see her again one day. I want to thank all of my family for the special memories we will all have because of the love we all share for one another. The beach trips and bbq's can never be replaced and are so special to me. Love you!  Wendy

Your mom was always so special to me. She lived her testimony every day on the bus even when I'm sure she was about to pull her hair out. I always remember as a kid she loved to sing those old Gospel songs and she would sing out with a smile on her face letting us all know she had the Joy, Joy, Joy, down in her heart. I'm sure she is up in heaven singing praises to her king. Till we see you again, love krista

I will always remember our grapefruit breakfast, spam for lunch with mine and your homemade jello pies. I always enjoyed spending  time with you no matter what we did you always seemed to make things fun. I miss you so very much and I talk about you all the time, I promise my son will grow up knowing what a wonderful grandmother he had. Love and miss you dearly!

I miss Grandma Deal everyday. Even after her accident she always seemed to be the happiest person in the room. No matter what the circumstances she always found something to smile or laugh about. 
I'm going to miss that part about her but I know she's smiling down on all of us everyday.

She was my second mom that loved me like one of her own children.She has and always will have a special place in my heart. God has blessed us so with this loving lady.Loved her so much!!!

Her favorite partner in rook was my dad I came in second she loved to play rook and she didn't get mad like I do when we lost sometimes not often. Mom loved the trip to Hilton head she knew she would be around with all her family.

Deanie was a very special lady.  We loved watching her sing on Sunday mornings.  She was always very kind and sweet - a joy to be around.  We miss seeing her at church.

What a precious, kind, and loving soul Ms. Deanie was.  I loved her hugs and her sweet spirit! I enjoyed my time with her as the family welcomed Morgan and I for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve celebrations. Deanie would always ask if my mom canned any beets that year :), she loved those beets!! Miss her still...Love to all my dear friends!

WOW, the other day when I saw that Mom's Guest book pages were going to close, I sent a few VERY extra  special folks a message asking them to please write something in Mom's Guest book and my Darling Sister "Trudy" called and asked Bunch Johnson to please leave it up longer (July 1st) so we could get as many as possible to sign and they agreed...... so Trudy added the Guest Book to Facebook and right now I am just absolutely overwhelmed and excited about this and I can't wait to see the book when we order it later.  Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone for taking the time to express these precious sweet healing words. My heart is absolutely OVERJOYED!!!!! If you have Pictures please add to the guest book!!  My Mother was the most precious Soul and today that Soul is alive and well in the place it was made to be forever and ever, whole, happy and smiling!!!  I pray the words that everyone reads about my Mom will bring you joy and healing also. Philip she was so PROUD of our strong family and I thank you for making reference to it!!!!! We have heard so many people make reference to our Love and support of each other over all the years (even strangers) and I consider it one of our greatest assets. I can't wait to read a post from each and everyone of her Grandchildren!!!! loving words do my heart so much good!!! My Mom was all about "Love"...SHE WAS SUCH A LOVING PERSON!!! From corn bread and milk to late night games of Rook, you were the best grandmother a boy could have. We love you!

My baby sister, Deanie Deal, was not just my sister, but my very best friend.  We were always very close as children and it was that way ever since. We had good times as kids playing in the woods behind our house and making toys out of things we would find...even pieces of broken glass.

After I married my husband, who was in the Army, we traveled all over the United States and overseas.  Deanie and her family came to see us as often as they could. And when we came back home to visit, my daughter Kathy always said before we even got out of the car "let's to go Aunt Deanie's house". We spent as much time with her as we could.

After my husband passed away in 2006, Deanie and I did everything together.  We grocery shopped, went to the beauty shop and every Sunday, we went to the Subway in Troutman to eat lunch.  It was just our "thing".  We had many, many happy times just being together. Deanie was a talker too! When we went anywhere, she stopped and talked to everyone she knew...and she knew everybody!

I miss my sister and best friend every single day, but I know she is in Heaven where she is happy and healthy and spending time with Jesus. And she is with her loved ones she missed, especially her baby girl Luann, who passed away as an infant. I know I will see Deanie again someday. I will always love you Sis.

You always know how to make me smile, always know how to make me laugh, You always cared for everyone and prayed for everyone no matter what.   I miss you, will always miss you, I wish you could see me get married, I wish you could meet my kids . I know you'll always be smiling in heaven looking down on us. I love you thank you for giving me the best mother in the world and the best family anyone could ask for.

She was the best grandma mom and great grandma anyone could ask for but no one can measure up to how much of a best friend she was to anyone of us . she always made my day always lit up when she saw us . she was amazing I'm glad I got to know her she was and is the best anyone could ask for thank you.

I truly miss seeing  Miss Deanie sitting in the front of the church. Her smile was so warm and loving. She was happy to be in the Lord's house. Love and prayers for her dear family. Great family support among her children and grandchildren. Can't wait to see her again on the other shore.

Deanie was such abeautiful, sweet,christian. Her beauti and loving ways was past on to each of her children, grandchildren and great grands. Let me tell you something about my Grandmother, no matter who you was she was sweet to you, loved you, prayed for you.  She always smiled, no matter what you couldn't go around her with out her making you laugh. I wish I had more time with her, Me being the baby grandkid  she will never see me get married, she will never meet my kids, and that is something I think about because grandma has had a massive impact on my life, luckily I was able to spend a lot of time with her, her last four years. I know she is watching over us. Seeing us still be a strong family.  I love my entire family, and she does to I'll always miss her. Love you grandma

From the very first day grandma Deal met me she loved me like her own. She was so kind and loving and had a heart of gold. I think about some of the wonderful laughs we had and I miss her so much. Love her forever and see her again someday!

What a wonderful lady and sweet friend Deanie was. I am thankful that God brought her into my life and especially for the time we spent together on Saturday afternoons. I miss my friend and look forward to that reunion day when I can see her beautiful smile again.

My Aunt Deanie was one special lady! From the time I was very little, she has always been one of my favorite people and I loved her very much.  And she loved me right back! On many, many of the 62 birthdays I have been blessed to have, the phone would ring early in the morning, and I could count on my Aunt Deanie to be on the other end wishing me a "Happy Happy Birthday Kathy..I love you and hope you have a blessed day". I treasure all those phone calls.  

Aunt Deanie was a "people person".  She didn't meet a stranger and always had a HUGE smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met.  My Mama is my Aunt Deanie's older sister and they used to be like two peas in a pod. They did everything together until Aunt Deanie had her strokes. Mama says that when they would go shopping, it always took twice as long because her sister would have to stop and talk to every person she knew :) 

Aunt Deanie loved her four children..fiercely!  Janet, Lonnie, Trudy & Laura...I know you guys know you were blessed with an angel of a mother.  The care you all provided for her in her last years is almost unheard of in todays times and I commend each and everyone of you for the unconditional love and care you gave her.  I know it was not an easy task, but you did it with all the love your hearts could hold. She loved you all so much, and she would want all of you to love each other now and carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion. 

I could go on and on about this precious lady.  I miss seeing her sitting on that front pew in church, singing all the old hymns and praising Jesus.  I miss her good cooking, her contagious laugh, how she could be so funny, how she shared her home and her heart. My Aunt Deanie a was "one of a kind" person and she is greatly missed by all those whom she loved and loved her.  I'm grateful to Jesus for dying on the cross for all our sins and because of His ultimate sacrifice, we WILL be reunited with our loved ones in Heaven some sweet day!!  It's not goodbye Aunt Deanie...I will see you soon!

Deanie was a very special lady in my life. I had her great influence the last half of my life & wish I had had it all my life. I was amazed at strength & positive outlook she had during the trials of life..always thinking of others & giving them encouragement along the way. Deanie loved me as she loved everyone. I felt that love & knew each time we saw each other it would still be alive. She was easy to love. More than anything she was the mother of one of my best friends. Janet & I were & are kindred spirits. She taught Janet to pray & have great faith & I witnessed times of that power, Janet prayed & prayers were answered. Thanks for the devotion. It will forever be an inspiration to me. Love is a verb & that means it's an action word. I saw action in Deanie towards all. Oh & by the way she had the most beautiful complexion ever.
