Wilma Jean Cloer Babcock

Mrs. Wilma Jean Cloer Babcock, 73, of 447 E. Lackey Farm Road, Stony Point, died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, NC. She was born April 21, 1937, in Alexander County, NC, and was a daughter of the late James Walter and Ella Hoover Cloer. She graduated in 1963 from Willowbrook State School of Nursing in New York and worked as an Occupational Therapist. She was a member of Stony Point A.R.P. Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cloer.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Babcock, Sr.; a son, LeRoy Babcock, Jr. and his wife, Erin; and a grandchild, Riley Cole Babcock all of Stony Point; a brother, J.D. Cloer of Stony Point; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth James of Statesville and Mrs. Kay Babcock of Stony Point.

Services celebrating Wilma's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Stony Point A.R.P. Church with Rev. Chris Parnell officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the Stony Point Cemetery.

The family will assemble at the residence of the deceased and will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Tuesday evening at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
