A Welcome Home Tribute

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1-2 | KJV

Griselda Maria “Grace” Walters- Beal, 64, of Staunton, passed away on May 5, 2020 of cancer in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Grace was born on April 3, 1956. She went to school in Panama. She graduated from Mt Calvary University, Fellowship, and Life. She worked in nursing, customer service, and for the Church. She gave her life at work and in service at George Washington University, Sears, Shoppers and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a veteran of Jehovah and served in the War for Christ and was awarded her wings in Heaven. She was involved in churches and charitable organizations, sharing the words, and creating one family. She received awards for being the Greatest Mom, Friend, Sister many times over. The words and frame may not be classy but it’s the spirit of an Angel that she is that carries us on like Butterfly’s Kisses.

Grace was preceded in death by Geraldo Mathews Sr.; brothers, Fernando Mathews and Geraldo Mathews Jr.; sister, Loretta Howard; cousin, Myra Sanchez- Owens; others unnamed but not less important.

Grace is survived by her children, Fernando and Kari Payne; Marcos Mathews and Virgilio Beal; cousin, Joseph Jordan; nieces, Julieta Jones and Savannah Mathews; and so many more unnamed family by blood and spirit.

A service will be conducted in our Hearts and Minds.

Memorials may be given to his children, Fernando and Kari Payne.

The Walters and Payne family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Julieta and Bobby Jones, Joseph Jordan, Youlanda Dunn, and Marcia Cumberbatch for taking care of mom physically and spiritually.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Relatives and friends may share condolences and memories online with the family by visiting www.reynoldshamrickfuneralhomes.com.

I’ll always remember you auntie Grace with an smile on my face because you always make me laugh. We shared lots of Bible verses, we prayed for hours and just enjoyed each other voices. Since you loves my son’s smile and your pictures together I’ll keep those ones close to my heart. You teaches my daughter how to clap “tortitas”, she will know that. You were more than my aunt. But because you didn’t like to be called grandma. You will always be the special one. You could come to my house any day at any time especially to bake cakes. And it was just okay to say:
Tiffany are you home?
-Yes,?
Ok open the door, I’m outside. Hahaha
We shared birthdays and holidays and baby showers and visitors from Panama in Maryland. Then the army relocated me to Alabama and I couldn’t get your surprise visits anymore. But I’ll cherish every memory and will always remember you Tia as a beautiful, elegant and powerful women of God. Your love for the Lord and how you shared His word helped me understand many things; especially the power of a prayer.
I miss you already, but you told me to be strong and to accept the Lord’s will.
And with sadness I’m doing just that. We had an special relationship, beyond anything the world can give and beyond anything that money can buy.
Thank you for your love!
You blessed so many people, it was your calling to served. You were sent by the Lord. I’ll always be your girl a and you will always be my beautiful butterfly. I’m going to remember your smile and your joyful spirit just like that.

Love,
Tiffany

“Vienes como un ladrón, y te robas my corazón, y luego te vas! De pronto te descubrí y pude captivar tu imagen que llevo grabada en el resto de mi ser. Eres parte de mi. Eres y siempre seras mi niña. ¡De mi corazon al tuyo!“

Tus palabras quedaron clavadas en mi corazón. Siempre seré tuya niña. ❤️ Y tu mi bella mariposa.🦋Hasta que nos encontremos en el cielo.

Gracie!! You will truly be missed ..you were such an awesome and wonderful person.... like my second mom during my highschool years.
& All these 20 years later you always kept in touch and showed me love.. I'm still caught off guard on how quick this all happened.
It feels like just yesterday we were in your parking lot chatting it up, but that was actually last June and I never imagined it would be our last time seeing each other.
Love you always❤❤❤,
Adwoa OK
