

Ulziisaikhan Davaadorj was born on January 29, 1968, in Bayankhongor Province, Mongolia, the eldest son of Sh. Davaadorj. From an early age, he showed a deep passion for the arts. He studied at Secondary School No. 2 in Bayankhongor and later graduated from the Dance Department of the Music and Dance College.
From 1984 to 1989, he worked as a principal dancer at the Youth Theater in Darkhan City. He later continued his studies at the Leningrad (Mariinsky) Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he trained under renowned choreographer Igor Belsky and graduated as a ballet master and director.
After returning to Mongolia, he worked as a ballet master at the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, creating and staging works such as Hamlet (1991) and Four Strings (1993), and restaging The Rite of Spring (1994), for which he received to Goo Maral Award.
In 1996, he moved to the United States, where he continued his career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He taught at River Ballet in New Jersey, later serving as Artistic Director, performed with the National Ballet of New Jersey, and mentored many young dancers.
In 2010, he and his wife, Tuya Tumennasan, founded Sterling Ballet Academy in Sterling, Virginia, where he dedicated himself to teaching and inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Ulziisaikhan devoted his life to the art of dance, leaving behind a lasting legacy through his choreography, teaching, and the many students he inspired. His memory and contributions to the arts will be cherished by his family, students, colleagues, and the wider artistic community. He and his wife Tuya are proud parents of two children, Ari and Anita Ulziisaikhan.
His funeral will take place on March 13th, 2026 at 9AM.
