Florence McCarthy, a resident of the 23rd ward.
Florence was a retired Cafeteria Cashier for the Chicago Public School.
After retiring, she was a chauffeur for a disables person for two years. She was a Trustee of the Board for the Southwest Side Senior Organization and belonged to several local senior clubs.
In 2006, she received a plaque for the most volunteered, with over 550 hours for the year.
She has been a great asset to her community before and during her senior years.
