

Frances J. Walter, age 91, of East Peoria, Illinois passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Frances was born in Waverly, TN to her parents Mary Ellen and Homer Chance. Loving wife of the late Norman E. Walter. Beloved mother of Terri (Dennis) Gustafson, Sue (Don) McGoorty, David (Debbie) Walter, Ray Walter and the late Michael Walter. Cherished grandmother of Kelli and Kelsi. Dear sister of Bill (Janet) Chance and Sally (the late Douglas) Phipps and the late Muriel (the late,Thelma) Chance, James (Yvonne) Chance, Daisy Sue Chance, Murray Chance, Doretha Brunty, Jim (B.J.) Chance. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Frances will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402.

The sleeping rooms, function space and food and beverage functions listed below will be considered definite commitments upon signing of this agreement by both parties, and will be subject to all terms and conditions set forth herein. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. RESERVATIONS: Reservations will be made by: Individual Call In The reservation deadline for the group is: 09/19/2023. After this date, we will continue to honor the group rate based on our general availability. Once reservations are made, each individual reservation may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the arrival date. Any cancellations within 24 hours will be charged one night’s room and tax at the group rate. The method of payment for each guest room is: Individual Pay Own
2. CONDUCT: The hotel reserves the right to exclude or remove any objectionable person(s) from the hotel premises without liability. If that individual(s) have disturbed the regular operations of the hotel, those individual(s) will be removed from the premises and no refunds will be distributed. In addition, the individual responsible for the room charges of that particular room will also be responsible for any refunds or damages related to the disturbances caused by the person(s) within that room.
3. CANCELLATION AND PERFORMANCE: The rates offered by us are based in part upon the total gross revenue anticipated by us from your agreement to use and pay for the rooms and events set forth in this Agreement. You agree and understand that in the event of a cancellation or lack of full performance by you, our actual damages would be difficult to determine. Therefore, you have agreed to pay reasonable liquidated damages to the Hotel for cancellation or lack of performance as described in this paragraph. Cancellation damages will be calculated as a percentage, based on the date of cancellation listed below, of the total minimum revenue guarantee listed above.
5. PAYMENT IN ADVANCE: Unless you have established credit in advance with us, you will pay the entire contract price in cash or by certified check at least three days prior to your function. If you have established credit, payment in full will be due within thirty (30) days after receipt of the bill. If you prefer, all charges can be paid by credit card. Hilton Garden Inn Chicago O’Hare accepts American Express, Diners Club, Discover Card, Master Card or Visa. Direct Bill applications must be submitted 30 days prior to arrival.
6. ON-SITE CHANGES: Changes that require additional charges need to be signed off by the on-site contact. This may include change of room setup, additional audio/visual rental or food and beverage changes. Please mark below your selection:

8. SECURITY: We have no insurance for and are not responsible for any loss or damage to your property. If required, in our sole judgment, in order to maintain adequate security measures in light of the size and/or nature of your function, you will provide, at your expense, security personnel supplied by a reputable licensed guard or security agency doing business in the city or county in which we are located, which agency will be subject to our prior approval. Such security personnel may not carry weapons. For the safety of persons and property, no fireworks or incendiary devices may be used indoors at the hotel.
9. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS: Company agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, including health and safety codes and federal anti-terrorism laws and regulations. Company agrees to cooperate with Hotel and any relevant governmental authority to ensure compliance with such laws. Company represents, warrants and agrees that it is currently, and at the time of the event which is the subject of this contract will be, in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal regulations or laws, including but not limited to, all provisions of the Patriot Act and regulations or requests of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Office of Foreign Assets Control in the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Hotel may cancel this Agreement without any liability if in the Hotel’s sole, reasonable determination, Hotel believes that it is necessary to do so in order to comply with its obligations under applicable laws, rules or regulations.
10. INDEMNIFICATION: To the extent permitted by law, you agree to protect, indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Hotel, Hilton Hotels Corporation, and the owner of the Hotel and their respective owners, managers, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees and agents (collectively, “Indemnified Parties”) against all claims, losses or damages to persons or property, governmental charges or fines, and costs (including reasonable attorney's fees), arising out of or connected with your function, except those claims arising out of the sole negligence or willful misconduct of the Hotel.
11. AUXILIARY AIDS: The Hotel represents and you acknowledge that the Hotel facilities being rented for you including guest rooms, common areas and transportation services will be in substantial compliance with applicable public accommodation requirements under the Americans With Disabilities Act. You agree that one week in advance of your event you will furnish to us a list of any auxiliary aids needed by your attendees in meeting or function space. You agree to pay all charges associated with the provision of such aids. We will, upon your request, furnish you with the names of businesses you can contact to obtain these aids. You also agree to be responsible for compliance with the ADA in the set up and conduct of meetings for your event.
12. FORCE MAJEURE: Neither party shall be responsible for failure to perform this contract if circumstances beyond their control (including, but not limited to; acts of God, shortage of commodities or supplies to be furnished by the Hotel, governmental authority, or declared war in the United States) make it illegal or impossible for the Hotel to hold the event.
13. DELIVERIES: Arrangements for delivery of packages should be made through the catering office. Receiving, handling and shipping charges may apply. No COD packages will be accepted. The hotel policies on safe package handling are based on advice from the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
14. ARBITRATION: The parties agree that subject to the exclusion of intellectual property matters as set forth below, any dispute in any way arising out of or relating to this contract will be resolved by arbitration before JAMS or American Arbitration Association in the state and city in which the Hotel is located, or the closest available location; provided, however, a dispute relating to patents, trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, trade secrets, false advertising, false representation, unfair competition and/or infringement of intellectual property rights shall not be subject to this provision. The parties further agree that in any arbitration proceeding they may conduct reasonable discovery pursuant to the arbitration rules, that the law of the state in which the Hotel is located will be the governing law, and any arbitration award will be enforceable in state or federal court. The prevailing party in any arbitration or court proceeding will be entitled to an award of its reasonable costs and attorney fees and pre and post judgment interest.
15. AMENDMENTS/CHANGES: The parties agree that any amendments or changes to the arrangements described in this contract must be made in writing, signed by both you and us. This contract does not include all signed or unsigned banquet event orders (the terms and conditions contained therein and attached thereto) issued by us for this and related events.
The undersigned expressly agree and warrant that they are authorized to sign and enter into this contract on behalf of the party for which they sign.
