Francisco Mendiola Galan

Francisco Mendiola Galan passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 59. Former resident of West Town Chicago, Illinois, Francisco was known for being selfless, kind-hearted, compassionate, generous, faithful, gentle, and honest.

Born on September 22, 1966, Francisco attended Wells High School in Chicago and furthered his education at St. Augustine College. He held a degree in Culinary Arts.

Francisco was the beloved son of Salomon and Ana Maria. He was a devoted brother to Salomon (Marta), Marilu (Gerardo), and the late Napoleon and Ignacio (Diana). He was cherished by his 24 nieces and nephews, who were an important part of his life.

A true fan of Chicago sports teams, Francisco enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams and sharing this enthusiasm with those around him.

Visitation Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, IL 60402. Family and friends are invited to gather at Mount Auburn Funeral Home at 9:00 am. on Friday, January 23, 2026, to follow in procession to Blessed Maria Gabriella East Parish, located at 743 N. Armour Street, Chicago, IL, 60642 for the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral mass, Francisco will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, 7750 Cermak Rd, Forest Park, IL, 60130.

Francisco's gentle spirit and generous nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
