Deepest condolences to the family- My name is Stanley Czupryna. Jody and I grew up together. We both lived on Harding Avenue in Chicago on the same block. Our parents knew each other, we played together, had sleepovers, did scouts, and so much more. I remember if my dog would ever get out, she would run right to Jody's house for some reason.  I remember Jody and his parents well and I have so many stories from our childhoods together. We went to different schools but stayed in close touch until our college days. We had run across each other only a few times in the past decade, and it was always great to catch up. I cannot express how sad I am to find out about this. I will miss him greatly. I remember the  great fishing trips at Port Clinton,Ohio on Lake Erie. This was during the 80's when we all worked gangs north. Jody was an excellent angler and good for a laugh.  I lost touch over the years so I just heard about his passing.  He will be missed.

Did you just love seeing Lise and I together saying good bye to you- it wasn’t easy! 
So many questions came to mind while sharing so many stories and laughs about you!  You were thought of so highly Jody and know you will never be forgotten:(
Keep a watch over Gina, Mike and your grandson they did really good by you!  Rest in Heaven my forever friend!

May Jody rest in peace. I have known Jody since we entered the Police Academy. He was one of the best and always dependable.  It was an honor serving along side you Jody.

A piece of Chicago fabric has crossed the river.  Jody was a superb police officer who was always ready to share his vast knowledge of street gangs.  He truly was a friend and mentor.

I was about twelve, Jody 14, when my cousin Jody and I spent several days together at our Uncle Laddie’s Fox River Grove farmhouse. He taught me how to fish for the first time, and I fondly remember that together we would drive the tractor around the field for hours. We saw little of each other after that, but he always remained my best friend.  Our family even named our dog Jody after we moved away from Chicago, as we missed him so. He was a good man that I am proud to have known.

Saw Jody at a family event and he said he was working at Murphy’s. He said to stop by any game and ask for him and I would not have to wait in line. I came by one game and sure enough I was able to beat the wait.  Came by numerous games and he treated me so well. Such a great person.  So generous.

Jody was either my mom’s cousin or mine. He was older than me and at all the family gatherings he would let me dance with him with my feet on top of his. When we moved to Kentucky I missed him so much I named our Irish Setter Jody after him. Saw him at his dad’s funeral and then again bc when I was in town to see the Cubs play. So sorry to hear about Jody Longos passing.  I worked with J-Dog in CPD narcotics and gang sections.  A great police officer and friend to many.   He will be truly missed. Deepest condolences to his family and friends at this most challenging time.  Jody R.I.P

Your retirement 10 years ago- I know you didn’t want to leave but you paid your dues and then some!  We had a lot of good times even when you had me pulling weeds on Nordica- we laughed a lot!  I know Oakley is well represented up there and no doubt were there to welcome you home.
