Maud was born in Chicago, IL in 1930 on March 14 to her parents Jacob Lester and Jessie [nee Brooks] Oller. Maud spent some of her childhood growing up on a farm in Missouri where she fostered a love for animals and a lifelong distaste for eating poultry. Later in life she would marry John “Jack” Elrich. They were married for 65 amazing years until his passing in 2013. Maud spent many years of her life working at Morton College as a secretary in the administration offices. Before that she was involved in secretarial work in administration for the Girl Scouts at the Red Feather building in Cicero. Maud was an avid reader which no doubt had a hand in her skill at writing. She wrote quite a few short stories which her family will always have as a cherished memory. Maud also was a devout member of The Wesley United Methodist Church.
Maud is survived by numerous family members including her two daughters, Nancy J. Helfrick and Helen (Anthony) Donnamario. She was blessed with many grandchildren: Eric, Tirandaz (Brittany), and Jeffrey (Michelle) Iranpur, Ralph, Anthony (Jennifer), John, and George (Heather) Donnamario, great-grandchildren: Dylan, Emma, Zephyn, Alexander, Julia, Michelle, Hope, Kiera Ann, Mia, Ashley (George), Mikki (Chris), Anthony, and George, and one great-great-grandchild: Ben.
