

Mildred Anna Otto, age 99, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Mildred was born December 10, 1921 in Green Bay Wisconsin, to her parents Emil and Martha (nee Pfotenhauer) Schoen. She was married to Walter E. Otto(deceased), also of Green Bay, but later divorced.
She is survived by her children Pat Otto, Ron (Kathy) Otto, Marion (Rob) Steffen, Ellen (the late Gary) Auld, and Mike Otto, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and an expected 3rd great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Martha Schoen, her siblings Melvin Schoen, Delores Highum, and Audrey Albert, and her daughter Karen Otto.
She was always very active – raising her 6 children, participating in St. Andrew’s church activities and serving as school secretary, and later as a personal assistant to business executives at BAI and Armstrong Int’l, bowling, keeping up with her large extended family, and caring for her father in Green Bay. She will be remembered for her positive, accepting attitude and outgoing personality by all friends and relatives, particularly those in Park Ridge, Illinois, on Colonial Avenue in Green Bay and her new friends at The Danish Home of Chicago.
An internment service for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Mount Auburn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Danish Home of Chicago.
