Rose "Cookie" A. Benton

Rose is survived by her partner Emma, her siblings; Kelli (William), Tommy, and Kathy, her nieces and nephews; Courtney, Billy (Amanda), Michael, and Kyle, her great-nieces and nephews; Marissa, Gibson, Maria, and many other members of family and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Barbara, siblings; Debi (Jim), Rick, and Steve.

Rose had a long career starting in 1980 at UOP. In Jan of 2002 she began working for the Chicago Transit Authority. It was in 2004 that Rose began working with Emma and a 20 year relationship would grow from that meeting. Unfortunately in 2014, Rose discovered she had breast cancer and soon became too ill to continue working. Despite her quickly developing illness, she fought hard for ten years. Her friends and family would like to take this time to remind everyone to consistently get your routine mammograms for prevention.

Rose was a loving, caring person, with a giving heart. She had an incredible smile and captivating spirit. To know Rose was to love her, as she had a beautiful, caring soul. She left an immeasurable impact on those who knew her and will never be forgotten.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation for Rose that will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 29, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am followed by a graveside service at Mount Auburn Memorial Park, 4101 South Oak Park Avenue, Stickney, Illinois 60402.
