Rose Ann Prokop Cesal

If you are reading this, then you have a part of Rose Cesal in you. Some of us by blood, but all of us because she touched us in some way -- an encouraging, fun-loving, kind way. Everyone who knew her will remember her in a good way.

She was never angry, or in a bad mood, or mean. She was so damn positive all the time! Wasn’t she always upbeat? Didn’t she always make you feel special? Always be the one to pat you on the back when you needed it most? Didn’t she always put others first almost to a fault? Even in death, I remember her saying she wanted to be waked at Mount Auburn so her Stickney friends wouldn’t have to go too far.

Her favorite saying was “Just Enjoy!” and she would do anything so you would enjoy, so you would be comfortable, so you would feel special. You couldn’t come up with a better role model than Rose Cesal. We’ve all learned a lot, specifically by her example, of how to go about living a good life; to be happy, respectful of life, and most of all to be kind to one another.

One of her few wishes is that her family remain friends. In her memory I know we will have no problem doing that. But she will be sorely missed as the focal point of our family. Especially when she used to pop for Villa Nova pizza night.

So when you are out enjoying life and having some fun, maybe think of good ol’ Rosie – because that is what she wanted you to do. And you know, maybe she is the one that made that fun happen. Just Enjoy!

We miss you ma, grandma. Thank you for life’s lessons.
