In these times, it is so hard to put into words the sadness and loss that I feel, but I take solace in the Apostle Paul’s words found in 2 Corinthians 5:8 that reads, “. . . to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”  Amidst my grief, I am confident that my Dad is in the presence of his Heavenly Father today . . . and one day, I and those of us who know Jesus as Lord and Savior, will too join him in heaven.  And if Dad were here today, his prayer would be that everyone would have that same confidence. 

Dad, thank you for all that you have done for me and taught me . . . for the love, sacrifice and commitment to be the best father you could be.  In so many ways, I am the man I am today because of you!  I will eternally be proud to be called your son!  I love you and will miss you!

My favorite memory of my father was his kind spirit and loving heart. He was a good and genuine man..  I did not see him often in my younger years; but when we finally did meet up it was amazing to see that we had so much in common.. our belief systems, hunting, fishing even some genetic characteristics, the way we talked and even  in the way we scratched our ears...Lol .. I remember many years ago, visiting and going to work with him one day,  and also going to his church in N.J. He had a great personality and joked around in a warm and funny way ! I could see that he was well liked! I admired him. It was then that I met his son Tim, another wonderful person with great mannerisms. I was instantly proud of him. 

Anyone who  knew my father could see that he was a passionate tender-  hearted man who loved  God. I'm grateful to have know my father.

I always enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving meals for Dad and Mom . He loved to eat and could put away pumpkin pie!!  😋

One memory, was fishing in the bay with Dad. We caught a bunch of sharks and bunch of sea turtles came up along aside of the boat to say hello ! The turtles were half the size of the boat!

Al & I shared a lot of time together in our teens.  He was my fishing buddy.  We went to school from grammer school through high school..  Later after he married Barb we as a family saw each other.  A lot of fond memories.  You have our deepest sympathy.   WE are praying for his love ones.

I want to wish my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family’s loss. Sending love to all of you in this difficult time. Rest in peace Uncle Al.

Al leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara J. Cotler; sons Donald (Wendy) Cotler, Terry (Robin) Cotler, Timothy (Georgia) Cotler; step-sons Stephen (Pattye) Casarow, Mike (Lorraine) Casarow; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
