Bertie Brookshire Smith, age 86, of Stockbridge, passed away Monday, February 08, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel at 12:00pm, with Mike Smith and Adam Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge. Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of True Gospel Baptist Church. Her husband of 58 years, Jerrell Smith preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by children; Patricia & Ronnie Carney, Carol & Hugh Queen, Lynn & Charlene Smith, and Sherry & James Roberts, grandchildren, Amanda & William Ballance and Jessica Carney, great-grandchildren, Aiden and Lucas Ballance. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2016, from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
