Bobby Frank Glover of Stockbridge, Georgia, transitioned to his home in Heaven surrounded by his family on June 2, 2021.

Bobby was born in Phenix City, Alabama on February 22, 1937. His family struggled through the late years of the depression then later moved to Charleston, South Carolina, during WWII, where his father was a civilian Navy Welder. After the war, the Glovers would end up in the Atlanta area during the late 40’s. Bobby graduated from Murphy High School in 1956 and during those years met the love of his life, Carol (McDaniel) Glover and they married in 1957. After marriage, Bobby spent 2 years in the US Army also while starting his family in 1959 with their first child Mark. In 1961, surprise twins were born named Kim and Lisa.

Bobby was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Dekalb County and in his later years attended Stockbridge Christian Church. He also worked over 40 years with the Local Sheet Metal Workers union, where he was a friend to many and example to all.

Bobby loved his whole family dearly and was a friend to so many, as he never met a stranger. A kind, sweet loving personality who never said a negative word about anyone. His witty one liner quotes and pranks were known to so many. After 84 years of a wonderful life, he will be missed dearly by all.

When we were new at MTN Carmel we remember BOBBY as so kind and with that warm smile. He made us feel so welcome and
we know that is one of the reasons we joined the church and loved
it for the next 17 years. Please accept our deepest sympathy at this
time but I know they are celebrating in heaven today.. and we will all be together again one day. May God comfort you Carole and your family.. Alice Moore

I have many memories of Bobby at Mt. Carmel. My deepest sympathy to the family. I'm sorry I can't attend the service, but I moved to Florida 17 years ago.

Carole and family, it saddens my heart that such a sweet and genuine man has taken his flight home but we all know he was ready. I'll never forget the first time I met Bobby. Between him and Pug Buttrill, there was no way I could have felt uncomfortable in my new church home. Bobby was an amazing man and I am truly blessed in having him in my life. Lots of prayers and hugs to you Carole.

When we came to Mount Carmel in 2003 we were made to feel welcome by so many, and chief amount them were two men Ham Hamlet and Bobby Glover! Bobby through the years in his quite and unassuming manner had a way of making everyone feel loved and special! On Sundays before services began he made it a point to “spy out” those who might be new or just lonely and he would go to them and strike up a kindly and sincere interest in them! He was not a politician working the crowd, but a meek and compassionate Christ like disciple! Even though we have not seen one another since their need to worship closer to their home, just knowing that this wonderful couple were in this world brought a warmth to my heart! In our loss (and Heaven’s gain) I have that deep sense of a vacancy! I can only imagine how Carol and their children and grands must feel! Barbara and I are praying that as Jesus promised The Comforter (He The Holy Spirit) will minister to all who knew and loved Bobby! Sunrise we’ll see!🎶💒

Bobby and I worked together through Local 85 a good while back at JM Kennith Company. I didn't know he was a Murphy High graduate, 6 years before me. It is sad to hear of his passing and I'm sure he will be missed by all. Condolences to his whole family and friends. I hadn't seen Bobby in quite a while.
