Carol Ward went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026. She had a wide circle of friends and was always there to assist anyone in need at a moment’s notice. Carol was born October 7, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio where she attended Holy Rosary Grade School and High School. She attended Ohio State University; while there, she traveled to Greece as an exchange student to work at a bank. She graduated from OSU in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and went on to pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
Carol worked in several accounting positions while living in California, including the State of California and Arthur Andersen during the 1970s. After moving to the Atlanta area to be near family, she was employed initially by Sunkist, then the Atlanta Bread Company. Later she provided accounting services for charitable organizations – working at both the American Cancer Society, and the Alzheimer’s Association for many years. Once retired, she was charitable with her time and cherished volunteering for Merci Boutique at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a Charismatic Catholic, involved in several church programs at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody. Carol loved traveling, spending time with family, and participating in neighborhood activities – especially enjoying and sometimes hosting their book club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merril Wendell “Toby” Ward, her brother, David Miller, and her sister, Sr. Nancy Miller. She is survived by her brother, Tom (Karen) Miller; her sisters, Mary (Jim) Zeier and Theresa Miller; her daughter, Laura (Ken) Bradford; her son Don (Wendy) Ward; her Grandson, Jason (Rochelle) Bradford, her Granddaughters, Jessica (Chris)
