Carolyn Ellis Blair Dobbs

Carolyn Ellis Blair Dobbs went to be with her Lord & Savior on August 5, 2015. Funeral services will be held on August 9, 2015, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel at 2pm. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge.

Carolyn was born in Griffin, GA to Burmer Carl & Clara Blair on May 18, 1927. She had a beloved sister, Jane Collette Hudson, and 2 brothers, B.C. and Davis. Carolyn graduated from Girls High in Atlanta and married Charles H. Dobbs on April 5, 1946.

Charlie & Carol raised 3 sons, Greg (Sherry) of McDonough, Mark of Ellenwood, Tim (Christa) of Odessa, TX, and one daughter, Sheila Kelly (Marty) of Ankeny, IA. They enjoyed many years of camping, traveling, and worshiping the Lord together at Fork Creek Baptist Church and Way of the Cross Baptist Church. Carol was preceded in death by Charlie in 1987.

Carol has lived a full & abundant life serving the Lord Jesus, teaching Sunday School, taking part in tennis & aerobics, thanking the Veterans and enjoying her 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Carol moved to Ankeny, Iowa in 2007 & lived the remainder of her years with Sheila and her family. She was a member of First Family Church and attended the Joy Group Bible Study at Ankeny Free Church. For the last year she was lovingly cared for at Sunnyview Care Center and was a delight to all.
