

was born on September 25, 1936 in Morristown, New Jersey.
David met the love of his life, Callie Simmons, on his birthday in 1968 in Piscataway, New Jersey. They later married on August 6, 1977 and were married for 46 years. They resided in Plainfield for many years, where they raised their three children before moving to McDonough, Georgia in 2006.
David last worked at Benton & Holden Moving and Storage before retiring.
David was one of six children. His family and friends called him by his nickname "Day-day". He loved to fish and would sometimes take his small boat out on the lake to catch that special bass. He loved taking his family on trips to the beaches of the New Jersey shore, Long Branch, Asbury Park, and Seaside Heights. In his later days, he would spend time doing his word search puzzles to keep his mind busy. He also loved to watch old westerns and game shows like Let's Make a Deal and Price is Right and can't forget about Judge Judy.
David is survived by his son, Glenn Simmons of Summerville, S.C; daughter, Rosalind
Gee, McDonough, Ga; grandson, Daniel W Gee III, McDonough, Ga; granddaughter, Jazmin Gee, McDonough, Ga; sisters, Jane Hurley, Myrtle Beach, S.C; Georgianna Tweedy, Newark, N.J; several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Simmons; mother, Blanche Simmons; father, A.Z. Simmons; brothers, Murray L. Simmons and Edward Simmons; sister, Alberta Lewis; son, Ronald Lemont Young.
David was a husband, father, big brother and uncle to many and was a great friend who
will be missed by all.
